Meet Rohan J. Prabhu, DDS
Dr. Prabhu practices a patient-centered approach to care by getting to know patients and creating a comfortable and positive environment.
About Dr. Prabhu
From Plainsboro, New Jersey, Dr. Rohan Prabhu became interested in oral surgery after his own wisdom teeth removal experience. Once he knew he wanted a career in dentistry, he shadowed Dr. Simos at Oral Surgery Group and was drawn to how unique each case was. He appreciated the camaraderie of the team, the application of new and innovative ideas, and a collaborative environment where he could continuously learn new things. Now, having joined this practice, it's fulfilling to come full circle from being a patient to now being an oral surgeon.
Dr. Prabhu understands that being nervous is part of being human. When a patient is anxious, he tries to identify the reasons and work through them together. By figuring out what each individual needs, Dr. Prabhu can create a more comfortable environment and ensure his patients feel at ease and confident. He finds it rewarding to get to know patients, hear their stories, and improve their oral health.
Education & Residency
Dr. Prabhu majored in molecular and cellular biology and public health services from Johns Hopkins University. He earned an MS in oral biology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a DDS from Columbia University.
Residency
Dr. Prabhu completed his 4-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2021.
Interests
When he’s not at work, Dr. Prabhu loves traveling and meeting new people with diverse cultural backgrounds (and trying delicious food!). His favorite holiday is Halloween when he makes elaborate face paint costumes for him and his friends. He also enjoys swimming, whether it is in a pool or in the ocean.
